Photobucket on CNN Money!

"The biggest Web site you've never heard of." We know you all know us. But now someone at CNN Money does too. Nice article. We wanted to share it.

NEW YORK (Fortune) -- Photobucket is the most important site on the Internet that hardly anybody understands. Unpretentiously, it has built an essential service that didn't need to shout out for attention, the way MySpace, YouTube, Facebook, Flickr, or other related sites have. Yet it's built an audience of 38 million members, a figure now growing more than 80,000 per day. That's up from just 50,000 members at the end of 2003. More.

Try Skinning Your Video

You may not have realized this, but Photobucket's videos are easily customizable to reflect your moods, brands, artwork, and photography.  You can "skin" the player so that when your videos are embedded on a website or profile page, it looks the way that you want it to. The skin image will appear "behind" the player as a background.

It's very easy and we've created a tutorial here to guide you through the process.

You can also search Photobucket for MySpace Backgrounds and then save the image to your desktop with the new filename of player_skin.jpgRe-upload the image in the same folder as your videos (even remix videos!) and you've got a custom video player!

You can use the sky, and artsy pics in this post to try it out if you like.

Site Issue Resolved: March 21st

Status as of 12:30PM Pacific Time: March 21st, 2007: During the night on March 20th 2007, a small percentage of Photobucket users experienced issues accessing their content.

The moment we were alerted to the issue, our special forces team worked through the night, and now the issue has been resolved.

No user should have experienced any data loss. There is no need to either make a new account, or re-upload your content.

Please know that we place the very highest priority on the reliability of our service. We fully appreciate that for those people who experienced an inaccessible account, this was frustrating and extremely inconvenient. Despite the volume of comments here, the number of users affected was only a small percentage of our overall user base. And every customer matters to Photobucket.

We truly appreciate your patience and thank you for choosing Photobucket.

If you have any specific questions, please email us at pbfeedback@photobucket.com.
