Photobucket Enables Third Party Web sites to Embed Instant Digital Media Search
Announces Launch of Photobucket Media Plug-in 2.0, Adding Media Search to the Company's Popular, Free Image and Video Plug-in
Palo Alto, Calif., June 25, 2007 – Photobucket <http://www.photobucket.com> , the world’s largest personal media site, today announced the launch of the Photobucket Media Plug-in 2.0, an enhanced version of its free image and video hosting plug-in, originally launched in June 2006. The Photobucket Media Plug-in offers an easy way for developers of Web sites to tap into Photobucket’s vast collection of media assets. It allows users of participating Web sites to search for billions of publicly stored photos, videos and images from Photobucket’s extensive library, and access their existing Photobucket media accounts – all without leaving partner sites. Since its launch in June 2006, the Photobucket Media Plug-in has been successfully deployed by hundreds of Web sites. The Photobucket Media Plug-in 2.0 will be available for partner Web sites before the end of June 2007.
Each day more than 25 million searches are conducted across Photobucket’s public library of photos, images and videos. Users of partner sites will now be able to search for that same content to upload and share more quickly to their own sites. Partner Web sites that embed the Photobucket Media Plug-in benefit from having users spend more time on their sites, providing immediate access to Photobucket’s extensive image and video library and offering Photobucket’s rich digital media search to their users.
