Anyone remember MySpace? GIF was so cool for that. Sure would be fun for the smart phone and FB too!

        Hello Debby,

Pinterest supports GIFs! You can make and post your own as pins. Facebook, unfortunately, does not yet.

you can use a gif maker… there are dozens of gif makers…. some free some shareware, but it’s doable…then you can upload them to PB using the Desktop util or the Web page

I had an animated GIF maker program on my PC 20 years ago, but didn’t transfer it to subsequent computers. It’s been around quite awhile. Maybe Photobucket can license the old software, it was a small program for a much earlier version of Windows.

A lot of good making gifs does if they don’t play within the app…I have a ton of gifs in my library, but they don’t play on my tablet application…am I not seeing the “play” button?

My android memory is nearly full. I’m assuming it takes quite a bit of memory usage to run the app. I’d prefer something I can use on my MacBook Pro as well. When people say PC, I hope they are referring to a CROSS-PLATFORM program that is not solely Windows based. I vote for a cross-platform computer app that can be shared.

I would also love to have a PC Version of this app. I type much to slowly on the Smartphone. Also, the Smart Phone is making me stupid. I don’t remember anybody’s phone number anymore. ;0)

Quick question: does it take up a lot of memory space on my Android phone in order to use this App?

Looks like good fun, but …. One thing to consider: Whatever you upload, you loose. So that killer picture, or GIF, you made becomes free for all to grab and use (and make money with). Check privacy policy [quote] Public Postings. Photographs and videos which you submit for use on public areas on Photobucket are considered public information and may be copied or further distributed by others in accordance with the Terms of Use. [unquote]. Not an issue for the happy holiday snapper, but something to think about for the more serious photographer.

I’d definitely try this out if it were available for a laptop but it’s too fiddly to do on a phone or tablet and anyway all my pics and graphics are stored on my laptop.

Does the app require the gifs to be uploaded to photobucket, or can we save them locally on the phone too?

    • Cameron Bradley
      July 2, 2014

The app will automatically save them to your device as well.

I’m so happy to finally have a way to make GIF’s and share them! Luckily I have an android, but for all the people that either don’t have a phone to do this or don’t have the kind of phone they need, especially in this economy, PLEASE MAKE THIS PC COMPATIBLE! I think everyone should have access to this awesomeness and that we should be able to use it wherever we can. I’m going to try it out now, I hope it’s easy to do. Thank You Photobucket!

For the benefit of those asking what a GIF is :

It is a series of photos that are run sequentially, like a film.

The definition of GIF I have seen is Graphical Interface File.

If you have the software for iOS and Android, I would MUCH rather have it on my MacBook Pro. It just more useful there.

yes it is… but in this case, this app is for when you only have your Android/ios mobile device and you find things gif worthy on the road

As hard as it is to believe these days, not all the population have smart phones! Of course not everyone has a PC either, although a good majority do and this would get a lot more exposure and/or use with a PC version. I believe you’d find it end up being a lot more popular then a IOS program.
