Digital photo organization can be very time consuming.  Our new organize tools make it more fast and easier than ever to curate, organize, and print your precious digital memories however you see fit.  Think of your Photobucket library as your own personal memory gallery, waiting to be dusted off and brought to light.

Here’s what’s new in your library:

  • Check marks when you hover over images make it easy to start selecting (including iPad support!)

Organize Tools

  • New fancy toolbar with more bulk actions than you can shake a stick at, including:
    • Print:  Select your favorite memories across multiple albums and print them as high quality Photo Books, Canvas Prints, Home Decor, Photo Gifts and more.  The photos you’ve selected will stick with you all the way through a product selection, making it really easy to get the product you want, with the photos you want.
    • Move:  Get your photos out of your bucket and into an album.  You can select an existing album to move your images to, or you can create a new one right in the window. A photo tray and image count to show a preview of everything you’ve selected.
    • Delete:  That series of photos you took of your feet by accident probably needs to go.
    • Copy:  My personal favorite addition.  You no longer need to copy photos one at a time.
    • Rotate: Rotate multiple photos at once.
    • Link: Grab all the individual links you need for forums, blogs, ebay, etc, with the updated window (see below).

Copy Links

Even more to love…

  • Action windows have been updated with a cleaner design, including a filmstrip that allows you to modify your choices before taking an action.
  • Select photos from multiple albums in your library, rather than just one.
  • Linker mode has an updated, cleaner design.
  • Sort Manually – a new option in your “Order By” dropdown.  Easily drag and drop your photos in the exact order you like.

    Hannah…

Just an update to close out the fiasco caused by photobucket losing some of my main photo albums containing hundreds of photos.

It took “support” several weeks to restore them and all they did was simply restore the clobbered albums from some old previous system “checkpoint” which did not include all the lost photos.

Meanwhile, all of the various sites where I’d had those photos posted had their links broken forever, disrupting the chronology of many thread discussions forever as well.

Since then I’ve had to waste several hours of my time copying / downloading my photos from the restored albums because they included all the Aviary Editor mods I’d made to them.

I’ve now saved them all locally, backed them all up somewhere else off site, then went back and permanently deleted those albums from photobucket, and am now in the process of uploading them to a different photo hosting site because I cannot risk placing total dependence on photobucket for that many important photos.

    Thought you should know.

Hi, I’ve used PB for many years (both paid and free) and at the moment I’ve got just a “library”, no separate albums so all my pics (over 800) are in the one place. There used to be page numbers so you could pick a page, click it ant that page would open. Now there’s no page numbers except whenyou click “Recent uploads” over on the left when there’s (for me) 13 pages (that doesn’t contain the whole number of pics BTW). Clicking one of those numbers doesn’t go to that page until the previous pages have all loaded.
Tell me please, was it users that requested that things were changed to the way they are now or did someone think it’s cool to keep fixing things that were not broke?
Is there any way to speed up finding pics without me having to spend ages on creating a load of new albums so that each album loads in a reasonable time? I’m using a conventional desktop PC, I don’t use “mobile devices”.

      Hello Jim,

We apologize for the frustration this is causing. Every album should still have page numbers that you can click on to navigate between pages. It sounds like a technical error is occurring and we would be happy to troubleshoot the issue for you. Please contact our support team at http://bit.ly/1u49uw3 so that we can further assist you with your account. Thank you!

Hannah, glad to see you’re alive and well…AND READING the blog.

So the test of reasonableness is that a reasonable person would reasonably conclude that you’ve read my repeated posts asking a simple question.

Similarly, the test of reasonableness about the total complete silence regarding my repeated question, is that a reasonable person will reasonably conclude that Photobucket has zero plans to fix any of the chronic problems that continue to get asked about here, ergo, no implementation date.

If Photobucket did indeed have a commitment to fix these things…and a project implementation date…Photobucket would be quick to post such a position statement to avoid losing customers to other hosting sites like Google, Flickr, Smugmug, Imgur, 500px, Amazon Prime, etc, etc.

People are posting here wanting to stay with Photobucket…repeatedly telling you of the same chronic problems…yet there is a constant refusal to communicate an official Photobucket position on the matter…..makes it very difficult if not impossible to stay the course with Photobucket.

Customer Service for users…indeed paying customers…is very poor when even an honest answer / communication does not exist.

          Hello Bill,

I apologize if it seems I was trying to avoid a simple question. My response was not meant to ignore you, rather to point you in the direction of our Support Team, where someone more knowledgable with the feature can assist you. I have reviewed your previous comments to see if there is a question not being answered that I can help you out with. It looks like you are having difficulty with the drag-and-drop function. To arrange photos in an album with the new organize mode feature, you will need to navigate to the “sort by” drop down at the top of your album and select “sort manually”. You will then be able to arrange your photos in the order you’d like. If this function is not working, it is a technical issue, and the only way we will be able to solve it is through our support team. I have therefor contacted our support team and asked them to pull up your ticket so that we can locate your request and find out what was left unanswered or not fixed. If your question is, “do we have plans to restore the previous organize mode toggle”, the answer is “No. Not in the immediate future”. We do appreciate your feedback and it has been passed along to our product team (along with all of the other feedback we have received from users) so that they can review all user feedback for future organize mode updates. If there are any other questions I would be happy to answer them, or if I can’t, I will find the appropriate person to ask and get back to you.

            Quote from Hannah’s Post:
“…..If there are any other questions I would be happy to answer them, or if I can’t, I will find the appropriate person to ask and get back to you…..”

            OK…here’s one:

Its been almost 3 weeks now since Photobucket lost 80-90% of the photos in several albums in my Library.

My repeated Email requests for an action plan with a scheduled committed date to restore my photos repeatedly go unanswered / ignored.

So per your latest offer, there’s a question you can get a concrete answer for…Thank you…A Paying Customer.

Unfortunately your canned reply is of zero help…I’d thought / hoped that this ‘blog’ was better than that.

As I’ve already mentioned in previous posts replies to you, I’ve already contacted ‘support’ on multiple occasions and they offer no insight to Photobucket ever restoring / improving the function lost from the major changes to the application.
The only thing that came out of attempting to get to the bottom of this with ‘support’ was that there are quirks with the drag & drop and suggestions on how to work around the design issue since it doesn’t work like drag & drop PC users have been used to for decades…indeed, doesn’t even work like the proper drag & drop Photobucket used to use prior to the major changes this year.

Very disappointing support for a paying customer.

How do you sort or arrange photos on the mobile app or even the mobile site? I’m not sure whether or not I’m just dumb or that it’s not an option? Been trying to figure this out for the last few months and its really annoying.

    • Hannah
      July 9, 2015

      Hello Stan,

When you are in the app… click on the album where your photos you want to arrange are located, hit “edit” at the top right hand side, then select the photos you wish to move, hit “move” and choose the album you’d like to send them to. You will need to log on to your desktop to arrange photos within the same album. When you are in your album on a desktop, locate the album in which you’d like to arrange your photos in. Then, above the album, click “Order By”, and select “Sort Manually”. You can then arrange the photos in the order you’d like.

        July 9, 2015

Thanks for the reply Hannah! I already figured the moving part out, it was the ability to sort and arrange the photos within the album that I needed to do. Unfortunatey, my desktop broke, so I have no way to arrange photos within an album… There doesn’t seem to be any option on the mobile app or mobile site, which is really strange since we live in such a technology driven age. I really wish they’d let you arrange/sort them within the album one day. It’s a real pain to have to sift through all my photos in various albums, wandering aimlessly looking for something. I appreciate the response though!

          July 9, 2015

          “…..arrange photos within an album…..”

Stan, unfortunately the previous simple drag & drop sorting feature…which worked perfectly and followed normal industry drag & drop protocol…was thrown away and replaced with the current sorting attempts as part of the recent major application change.

The current sorting attempt design…even on a PC…is very poor and worse, no one at photobucket is willing to acknowledge that and declare that photobucket is going to fix it…(or not)…so that it works like a normal drag & drop protocol.
Even just restoring the previous version of drag & drop sorting would be fine but that’s not to be either.

So your frustration is understandable…in addition, to say this mess is extremely disappointing after 10+ years with photobucket…and a paying customer…would be a major understatement.

Another follow-up in case the July 4th Holiday weekend got in the way.
Need a professional answer to this:

Working with support the following absolutes have been confirmed:
    1) There are no hardware / software / network issues on my end;
    2) There are application design & usability issues with the Manual Sort feature;

The professional, fact based question remains unanswered by Photobucket:

“Is there…or is there not…a concrete application development fix / update / improvement plan AND implementation date for these issues to be resolved once and for all?”

    Yes or no?
And if yes, what is the official date for the fix package to be implemented?

Paying customers have a right to know.
    Thank you, Bill

Hannah, I have a question and I’d appreciate a straight answer.
We all know and can agree there have been and continue to be a lot of problems from the recent changes to PB functions & features. In particular, there are issues with the photo sorting feature, it definitely not being “ready for primetime” along with the support for it.

I, and apparently others in this blog, need to make a decision whether or not to make plans to move from PB and start using another hosting site…so here’s a key question for the record:
“Is there or is there not a concrete application development fix / update / improvement plan AND implementation date for these issues to be resolved once and for all?
    Yes or no?
And if yes, what is the date for the fix package to be implemented?

    Thank you, Bill

    I’ve been a Photobucket user for 11 years…have a fee pay / premium account.
And from time to time whenever big system changes were made, there were usually some problems but they usually got settled down before too long.
This latest large scale change has caused a serious problem for me:
I can no longer manually sort photos in my albums because the old way was taken away fro me and the new MANUAL SORT feature does not work for me.

I bring up MANUAL SORT, click on a photo, drag it to where I want it, the intensified copy with the blue tab follows, but when I release it to “drop it” in it’s new location, it doesn’t drop, it just disappears from the screen, and the original remains it its original position with the highlight border around it from when I selected it.

I use modern high speed equipment, high speed networks, auto updates on all software, fails with multiple browsers, cookies & cache have been cleared multiple times, javsascript is enabled, etc, etc, etc…everything suggested by Photobucket Support has been checked, was already in place, rechecked, etc…everything is as it should be.
MANUAL SORT still does not work.

THEN finally…to eliminate any continued Photobucket claims that my PC, my software, or my network must be the problem, I SHUT THEM ALL OFF…LITERALLY POWERED THEM ALL OFF…PC, AT&T NETWORK ROUTER, ETC…then I connected to Photobucket via my iPhone 6Plus using only the Verizon 4G Network…and MANUAL SORT still fails the exact same way.

If it fails with my PC, my PC software mix, and my network.
And if it also fails with my Apple iPhone 6Plus and Verizon’s 4G network.
The conclusion that I draw is the common denominator is Photobucket.

Can you please get someone at Photobucket to roll up their sleeves and figure out why MANUAL SORT does not work for me no matter what PC or iPhone or network I use?

Here’s hoping I don’t have to leave Photobucket to find a Host that let’s me do something as simple as manually sort my photos like I used to be able to do.
    Thank you, Bill

Hannah, thank you for your obvious logical conclusion.
As I mentioned earlier, I’ve already gone through this with photobucket support staff, back and forth with several Emails, verifying everything as I stated in my recent summary post above.
I’ve not heard from them for a few days now, since I sent the detailed summary that clearly suggests its a Photobucket issue…which is why I looked for / found this blog and entered it here in hopes SOMEBODY here can get some serious activity started over at the support center. Its very discouraging to be a good, paying customer and not get satisfactory support.
If you can…please light a fire under somebody on the support staff.
        I’d appreciate it…thank you, Bill

        Good morning Hannah…just a quick follow-up.

Support finally got back to me yesterday…but all they did was ask for all the same information all over again.
Then I received an another Email last night asking a question…and when I went to test MANUAL SORT again, it actually worked for three simple individual photo sort tests. But then it quit working again…still doesn’t work this morning.

Does your support structure have higher levels of knowledge & experience behind the first level that’s been involved with this so far…like a Level II…Level III…?
This is really dragging out over time…

        Thanks, Bill

A couple hours ago I made a very lengthy detailed post about a problem with MANUAL SORT not working. I clicked SUBMIT and saw the post appear and that it had been submitted / received OK.

But in checking just now to see if any reply might have been made…my post is nowhere to be found.

Where can I find my post in this blog?

When I click on the checkmark at the bottom of the pictures I want to move, the toolbar does not appear and in fact the pictures get dragged! I can’t get them to stabilize or do anything with them. Please help! This new feature has made it so much more complicated and time consuming!

I don’t use this site for much except to store my photos. I am not familiar with and don’t have much need for the links. It was a lot easier to title my photos before this update. I could just turn on the organize button, title them all, and then put them where they needed to go. To have to click through each individual photo, wait for it to pull up, then put a title on it, is too time consuming. This update has not streamlined that process at all, it has made it hard on those of us that upload hundreds of photos at a time. I have worked around previous updates but this one is not good for anyones work when they need to title any of their images. I would like the option to go back to the previous version I was on, I can’t even imagine how long it is going to take me to label the close to 500 images I just uploaded.
