Native Integration Enables Easy, One Click Uploads to Photobucket.com
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. – June 8, 2009 – Photobucket (http://photobucket.com), the Web’s premier standalone photo and video-sharing site, today announced the availability of a native photo upload solution for the new Palm® Pre™ phone. As a pre-installed photo upload partner, Photobucket lets Palm Pre users easily send photos taken on their mobile device to a Photobucket album without having to download an application. Users just take a picture and tap on the Photobucket entry to send the picture to their Photobucket account.(1)
“Taking photos with a mobile device is quickly becoming a favorite way to capture memories,” said Pam Deziel, vice president, Developer Marketing, Palm, Inc. “With Photobucket integrated into the core functionality of Palm Pre, photo taking and sharing is a breeze.”
“Photobucket is thrilled to be a natively integrated photo upload solution on Palm Pre,” said Alex Welch, president of Photobucket. “The cameras built into mobile devices have become so sophisticated and Palm Pre is no exception. Photobucket has seen a tremendous rise in popularity of mobile photos that are uploaded and shared on the site and now, more than ever, we are committed to making photo sharing simple, no matter where our users are.”
To set up a Photobucket account on Pre, select “Photos” from the launcher, tap “Preferences and Accounts” from the application menu and select “Add An Account”. About the Palm Pre Phone
Palm® Pre™ is the first phone running the new Palm webOS™ platform, which brings together your important information from where it resides – on your phone, at your work or on the web – into one logical view.(1) Palm Synergy™, a key feature of webOS, pulls your contacts and calendars from places like Outlook, Google and Facebook, so everything is right there for you when you need it. Palm Pre also lets you flip back and forth between all the things you have open at once—instead of opening and closing them—so you can flow easily between activities without losing your place. Pre’s exquisite design includes a touch screen and a physical keyboard that slides out only when needed. The new Palm Pre and webOS are designed to be so in sync with your needs that it feels like Pre is thinking ahead for you. More information about the Palm Pre phone is available at www.palm.com/Pre.
