I can’t believe how f@cked up your website is now, way too many adverts and they place themselves over the controls you want to use. The website is very slow and won’t load up. What the hell happened? I know you have to make money, but at the expense of the website is total rubbish.

I have just Photobucket for many years, but am now going elsewhere……

The fact that this change is retroactive makes it like a simple blackmail
I hope that some legal action will be taken against you, you deserve it
You could still put the paid service but not retroactive on what is already present
$ 400 I use them to eat 2 months not sure to give it to those who cheated me

$ 50 I could even pay them but 400 you can really forget about it
Congratulations for having committed suicide to your site,
I’m sure Next year your site will no longer be available

just downloaded all my photos and stop to use your site..
shame on you scammers for this blackmail
Instead of giving you $ 400 I will warn 400 sites to avoid you

I will never trust you anymore

I’ve used photobucket for years for picture hosting, as it was the best site available to do so. It was ALL I, and friends, have used it for. Insisting people pay hundred of dollars for such a privilege OUT OF NO WHERE is absurd. I hope you’re happy you’ve killed your own website.

Can I please at least get my family picture off of your site? I cannot believe that after all of these years of using your site, you go and do something stupid like this…taking people’s memories away from us…some of us cannot afford $399 a year. Did you ever take into consideration that a lot of us older folks may be on disability or have limited income. At least give us a chance to recover our family pictures. I put my pictures on your site, because after 10 years I figured I could trust this site. I can see now that I cannot. How dare you ransom people’s memories from them!!! I’ve lost all of my children’s & grandchildren’s photos, because of this. I’ll never trust an online site ever again…especially Photobucket. You will never have my business again, if this is not reversed!

It is hard to imagine anyone being this stupid, therefore, what is PB’s intent? I assume that they want to get rid of all free accounts plus all accounts that cost less than $400 per year, and reinvent PB from the kind of service they have offered into a different kind of site. Seems like a weird plan, if it is planned, and I won’t say good luck.

I only used Photobucket for picture hosting. I completely deleted my account. I’ll find another place to host my photos…Photobucket can just die a quick death…

I heard about this from a forum friend and couldn’t believe it until I went here to read the updated ToS. Wow! No emails sent out to the members, and we are being punished retroactively for using our images on sites. Even paying members.

I do not agree to the new ToS and have deleted my account after being on Photobucket for nine years. Many of my friends are leaving too.

I don’t mind seeing ads for a free account and having the option to pay for more storage, but the new rules against sharing pics on sites without paying $400, and holding our already shared pics for ransom, is ridiculous!

I always back up each blog post, and keep copies of my images,
but that sickening feeling of looking at your blog to discover the shit show:
completely covered with ugly “UPDATE TO PHOTOBUCKET 500” where each and every image was, was hard to take…
I’ve made a full page story describing these actions, and every single replaced image-with-a-sticker is a testament to your shitty business tactics. With no warning… I’m looking for other options now. So much work to re-do all… Thanks for the good years, Photobucket. Harsh.

DO NOT PAY THE 400 USA DOLLAR RANSOMWARE.

Do not pay their ransomware fee. This last ditch effort to get your money is a final grab right before they shut the doors.

And what is going to happen with my payed account for so many years? Also hotlink going to be cut? I her use this PB for my forums, webs and blogs, I paying most 10 years. What is going to happen with the current pay accounts? They have not answered me in the e-mail of support. :/
It is a horrible barbarity this that they have done. It is outrageous, is an act of hack and steal.

My hopes are that Photobucket quickly realizes that it has made a big mistake and corrects itself before it is too late. Photobucket, how about a price point that is more in line with your competitors, as an example $37.99 per year!

But with that said, it is not encouraging seeing that their customer service department is all but non existent and the website is currently on it’s knees. I’m going to try to email them at their customer support and see if I can get a response just so that I can say I did rather than reading about the none responses here. Reading these post indicate that I am probably wasting my time but I want to say I tried.

I will say this, I will spend weeks repopulating my photos into another third party website before I give into this outrageous price of $399 per year. Photobucket, please tell us that this is a mistake right?

So if we can’t get into photobucket without subscription, then what happens to all the photos that had been uploaded for the years we have been the loyal member to this website? Do we get chance to download them?

I hope that they will resolve something pretty quick as it’s making everyone very angry and it’s understandable as some photos are memories and sentimentals too for individuals.

    biggest errors in internet history!!!!!!!!!!

Really? Paid subscription for third party hosting? Goodbye Photobucket. Plus, your site is slow, not user friendly and closing the pop up adds is like playing an 80’s space video game where you need to click asteroids to win. What a bunch of idiots you are. Guaranteed you’ll lose 99% of your user base. Spending the day downloading and switching to a better hosting site then deleting my PB account. Dumb asses.

I’d like to add to my previous comment, I predict this attempt of a cash grab will backfire – BIG TIME & very shortly – I thought your site was hijacked at first & didn’t think it was true; that FB would stoop this low; but I see now what you are all about – not people & enjoying picture sharing – just pure greed – your all sick – SEEK HELP

Good luck with this scam – if you idiots get 1% of the users paying this – I’ll be shocked – I hope you get a nice class action lawsuit filed against you – I have a ton of pics on PB – but I ain’t paying $399 , your just being stupid & greedy – if you would have said something like $49 a year – maybe it would have worked. Also, you should have given a little advance notice perhaps ? What twit thought this was a good idea ?
