OH MY GOSH! They TOTALY casted Jacob, Bella, and Edward wrong!! Edward was supposed to be hot, Bella was supposed to look like a normal girl, and she does, but throughout the whole movie, she was so monotone that it ruined it! Jacob’s wig was HORRIBLE! it looked SO gross on him, and he was supposed to be…idk different. ugh! Loved the books, disliked the movie!

I dont beleieve this movie was terrible nor was it perfect but I must say it was entertaining. I enjoyed it and I knew to expect from Hollywood. Of course chages are going to be made but that is to be expected! Overall I still enjoyed the movie and admit to seeing it more than once. πŸ˜€

I loved Twilight. Not as good as the books but tell me what movie is. It was an awesome movie. The characters were great. The Cullen boys were awesome (I β™₯ Emmett).
If you went to see the movie, but haven’t read the books, pick one up and read it now. They are awesome. I am in my third time through them.

Okay, first off, the movie sucked tennis balls.
Its not that i wasnt good, i liked it,
its the fact that they could have made it a whole
lot better. The Books are better, get over it.
    The Movie was WACK!
ps. im not hating, im just being an angry movie
and Bella is such a jerk. get over it Bella Fans.
She is one of the biggest jerks in the history of
    big jerks.
and yeah, that book is huge,
    that is all.

Movie, well obviously considering how bad the books are the movie was crap as well. Sadly we all can’t be Anne Rice when it comes to making a vampire series

I loved the movie A LOT! I’ve saw it TWICE! But the book is good as hell, forget what others say, if the book was good then so was the movie because the movie is based off the book but with a few changes, I hope they make a movie to New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn. Bella and Edward gonna get married and have a daughter plus she’s going to be a vampire, I can’t wait to read the last two books, I already got the first two books πŸ™‚ oh and if they do make movies to it, I’m going to see it lol I’m so obsess with Twilight now.

….i thought it was…ok…i’ll just say i saw the casting better in my head and some of the acting. Also some of my FAV part about the book didnt make it(i.e.) the lunch room scean and the blood typin. I just think it was kinda of rushed and jammed together for such a large book that it was. i HATE to say but i LOVED the other actors better then edward and bella.

    Well, i loved the movie.
Of course it wasn’t as good as the book.
NO ONE can ever match up to the book!!!
i think Robert Pattersin is CUTE but does not
meet up to Edward Cullen’s status. No one ever will, truth be told. Edward is describes as PERFECT. Robert is definilty not perfect.
I have been waiting for this movie for a while [3 years] and i must say you newbies amuse me. You all say Robert is PERFECT for the position when he really is not. I like him and the movie, but eehh.
i expected more….chemistry between Bella and Edward. The love is suppose to be more powerful. Kristen Stewart is kinda of a bad actress and so is Rob.
At the end i was dying when he couldn’t stop drinking Bella’s blood. He looked as if he was having a seizure [spell check]
But other than all these things, i loved it. i thought it was going to SUCK since i almost cried when they FINALLY chose Edward. But it did not. So calm your balls, ya newbies. Hahaha. <3

I thought the movie wasn’t nearly as good as the book, but it still rocked. Me and all my friends had such a fun time and the whole theater was all fanpires, so if it’s possible, the whole audiance had fun together screaming and laughing and whatnot.
I loved the baseball scene and the scene where Bella tells Edward she know’s he’s a vamp. I can’t really call it a meadow scene becasue all that happend in the meadow scene was them lying down and Edward sparkling again. That was a big flaw.
But, yeah, me and my friends thought it was pretty freakin’ amazing, and I can’t wait to go see it for the tird time in the theater!

I love the movie! I thought it was great. I read the books and saw the movie so I can’t wait for New Moon to come out as a movie. I understand some people weren’t happy with it but I was… I thought it was a great movie and I have to go see it again.

    December 5, 2008

    The movie was okay.
    It wasn’t the best though.
The cut out some parts and added there own.
The actor for Bella wasn’t who I imagine who would play her. but she was okay. [i thought Emily Browning would be great as bella. xD] I read all the books and i cant wait until new moon. [Team Jacob! lolz]

    December 5, 2008

I loved it, but I do agree that they rushed through the movie. They skipped the parts that, I thought were really important, like when Edward fake tackles Bella, and the blood scene. Also, I didn’t like at the end of the movie, when Edward has to suck all the venom out of Bella’s blood, and instead of stopping when he was done, he, kept drinking, and almost killed bELLA! I didn’t like that he didn’t do that in the book. It really makes Edward look like a bad guy πŸ™
But.. I did really like it! It was one of my favorite movies ever! I loved the cast too. Jasper was perfect, as well as Alice, and Edward. Bella…maybe..Idk, but all in all it was a good movie.
My favorite part was were Bella walks into the class room and Edward smells her scent, and startes like, plugging his nose! haha, Robert Pattison did an amazing job! Ok, I’m talking too much! Bye

    December 5, 2008

I thought the movie was ok it wasnt bad but not as good as people made it out to be i of course know it cant be just like the book but come on they could have put certain parts in like blood type! And as for the actors I think everyone was great except for kristin staurt she could have shown a little more emotion and then at the end of the movie in the hospital turn it down a notch!Yes she looks like bella and sort of acted like her but not really I think they could have gotten someone better.and i’m not hating i’m just stating my opioion!

  32. Dragonfire
    December 6, 2008

The movie was one of the worst I’ve seen. The cast was very bad, most people I’ve talked to agree. They changed to many places where things happened in the book.
The book was one of the best I’ve ever read. They ruined the movie.

Twilight is the best book & movie I’ve ever read and seen. It’s an amazing phenomenon created by Stephenie Meyer, and the Cullens rock! πŸ˜€

  34. Ines
    December 6, 2008

Of course the book is “better”, but I think that we can’t compare the movie with the book because they’re totally different things !
I really think the movie is very well-done, and they put all the most important things except one : they didn’t explain why the book/movie was called “Twilight”, but come on, in general it was great.
However, don’t go and see the movie without reading the book, because I think that would be a shame :\

  35. brittany
    December 6, 2008

it was okay, not good, not terrible, just okay! the acting could have been better, and the movie SHOULD have had some of the more crucial parts, like the “do i dazzle you?” scene, and the scene with the nurses office where bella and edward speak for the first time.

    December 6, 2008

I liked the books, those were ok (hey.. i’m a bookworm) but the movie? *gag*
Ok for the casting;i agree with Caitlin A, bella was wrong, edward was wierd and jacob ugly
( you know i always hated Jacob because of New moon.. oh well)
    Ashley Greene? umm… yea… no
Jasper Whitehorse or what ever it is who plays jasper: ….. kinda… creepy
Who ever plays Rose: …. she was ok.. but you know? i I could have done better than her (my acting experience: improv on camera) oh course.. i’m just really good at acting mad.. and sad πŸ™‚ or happy when really mad you know?
Emmett: he i thought was the only person they casted right.
Edward: seriously?! Robert Pattinson?! CEDRIC DIGGORY?! WTF
Esme: … ‘We’re making italiano for you” ???? akward the way she said “I hope your hungry”
Carlisle; … no … tooo same scene as esme “It gives us a reason to use the kitchen for the first time” ….. right.. your supposed to act .. SEMI normal..
Morgan: ok..enough ranting Em.. I’m taking control now and posting this

    December 6, 2008

ok well the book no doubt was 100% better. but the movie was good too.
i feel if Robert Pattinson didnt play edward most of the girl fans would go down. he even gives us girls a heart ache, forget bella. i dont know if the actress for bella is going to continue playing a good role as the main charecter for the rest of the movies as they continue. they could have done better. over all it was so unique and adorable!

  40. Beyond
    December 6, 2008

hmm… well the movie went with the book OK… but it could have been better i think. i can’t say it was awful, but i can’t say it was wonderful. i believe it is an in between sort of movie. i think Edward should have looked different, and so should Jacob. a few parts were changed to, like when Bella was bit, for example. i still think the books were WAY better. but for the movie to be changed from a book that takes a day or longer to read, to be about a 3 hour movie, they did VERY well. i liked the books more than i liked the movie, but i enjoyed the movie. it was interesting.

Twilight….it was good but short, and at some points edward look ugly, but nonetheless i loved it, maybe because i am such a big fan of the author….the producer could have used more effects during the glitter sceen…i thought it was kind of cheesy…he made it sound like a bad thing when it really wasnt…but jasper was SEXXY!!

    I, myself, loved the movie.
It wasn’t perfect, which was to be expected, but it was a lot better then I have originally planned.
Bella could of been better, and Edward was a bit more awkward then planned, but Rob and Kristen still did a brilliant job.
Now, I don’t want people yelling at me, but like I said, I loved the movie. I will even admit to seeing this movie multiple times. πŸ™‚

I loved the movie……..I was a little disappointed because not everything was in the movie but it’s impossible to fit the whole thing unless it’s going to be so long. But I still loved the movie. The people who think it was a horrible movie need to realize that they wanted it to be perfect just like the book are crazy because Edward and Bella could look exacally the same as in the movie and book and that the movie can’t be perfect because it’s like people we can’t all be perfect.

Twilight is the greasiest, most unappealing book I have ever read. When it became as popular as it did, I was sad to find that I overestimated the intelligence of the population. The book itself is bad, but the movie I’m expecting is going to be ten times worse. That’s what happens when you make a film based off a twelve-year-old’s sexual fantasy.
If you like Twilight, you should be ashamed. It promotes a negative message to young girls…seriously, everything’s wrong with it: Abusive relationships, teenage pregnancy, men are better than women, etc. That’s just some of the views that Meyer has woven into her disgusting and sexist volume. If you like Twilight and you like the movie, that’s fine, but allow me to call you an idiot.

  60. Kym
    December 6, 2008

The Twilight movie was actually pretty good! I thought it followed the book very well even though yes no movie can follow a book completely! I don’t understand why so many people didn’t like it?! I have seen worse movies than this one!

    i LOVED the book

i liked it a little but i hate how they made edward really angry

  62. Taylor
    December 6, 2008

The book and the movie are perhps the worst things in human history. Vampires don’t sparkle, and don’t fall in love with humans. It’s called lust. The book is sexist, obviously, and the lack of roles in a relationship is completely erratic. Edward controlls her life, watches her when she sleeps, takes things from her car so she cannot go see her friends. Every two paragraphs are about how ‘hot’ he is, and, also, Bella is annoying, clumsy, and a Mary-Sue. Did I mention that Edward’s name should be ‘Gary-Lou’? Because he IS one. Everything about him is totally perfect. She gets stupidly obsesed with him, enough to the point that she’d rather die than not be with him. It’s just a deluded fantasy by a woman who knows nothing about vampires. Bram Stoker would be spinning in his GRAVE!!!

What?! Twilight is thee best book series in the world and the movie is AMAZZINNGGG and the DVD will be way better! Eeeek! Cant wait for the other movies πŸ˜€

  65. Damali
    December 6, 2008

I thought the movie was okay, but by far, it definitely wasn’t the best, but I can’t say I hate it….I only read half of the Twilight book before watching the movie…because I just couldn’t get into it, it didn’t grab me like, for example, Harry Potter did….Harry Potter grabbed me in an instant, where as Twilight…not so much, but now that I watched the movie..I want to read the book.
But, you guys saying that a movie is never as good as the book, aren’t entirely right…the very first Harry Potter movie was just as good as the book..and Harry (Radcliffe) was the spitting image of the Harry in the book….although that was the only movie as good as the book, the 2nd and 3rd were okay, but the book was better..and the rest of the Harry Potter movies have continued to disappoint me…so it isn’t ALL the time that the movie is worse than the book..but most of the time..yeah..books beat up movies and throw them out the window….books are always better. πŸ™‚
p.s. Edward was much much much handsomer in my imagination when I read about him, then who they chose…I mean Robert (Edward, Cedric) is not super ugly….he’s alright…but he is no where close to how handsome Edward should look like (yes, I said “should”), I know I’m not the only one, who thinks Edward should have been handsomer..lol…maybe Edward was too handsome, that no boy that is real could ever measure up…ha ha. πŸ™‚
Twilight is alright…but Harry Potter is waaaaay better by far….there is no comparison…Stephenie Myers is no J.K. Rowling…AT ALL. She shouldn’t even be talked about in the same breath. (No offense, but you can’t touch Harry Potter or its author).

  66. Paige
    December 6, 2008

    December 6, 2008

I can’t say that I hate the movie but I think they could have made it sooo much better. The characters weren’t that bad but they don’t seem very experienced. The actress who played Bella I think was fairly well but Edward was HORRIBLE. Okay, in some of the parts he wasn’t that bad but over all I hated him. He’s not hot enough to be a vampire and if I was Stephanie Myer I would never allow that to happen. Esme and Carlisle was how I pictured them same with Rosalie (I though she played good for a stuck-up pretty girl), Emmett (I thought he was perfect), Alice (could have got someone better but she wasn’t bad) and Jasper (I thought he was good as well). As for the Nomadic vampires they weren’t in it very much for me to decide anything. I also think they could have put more scenes from the book in the movie but it was like 2 hours long so I could understand that. So yeah, that’s what I think of the movie, but the book will always be better. Hopefully they learn what they did wrong and make it better in New Moon.

I liked the movie. some things annoyed me though. like charlies cabnets are supposed to be yellow not wooden! and bella never kissed
edward in her underwear, especially not in the 1st book! but those are my only 2 complaints.

I was happy with the movie… sure they didn’t have everything the book had.. what movie does? I loved the baseball scene… and I’m glad they kept it in it… plus they were working with a minimal budget here… New Moon will have a way bigger budget…
I liked they kept the mushroom ravoli that bella ate when edward took her to dinner. I also thought that they should of shown more bella/alice interactions after alice introduced herself when bella came over to the cullen house…
although it was not in the book.. I enjoyed edward and bella hanging out in the tree.

worst movie i have every seen (after cinderella storry with hilary duff) the first half of the movie evry one looked constipaed, edward was simply hidious, the soundtrack sounded like some gay guys bals got stuck in a vice grip, not to mention the stupididy behind the what 17th vampire story where a vampire has some supenatural atraction(cause vampares need to be anymore supernatural) that add’s to the storrys hollow plot.
and last and most important the vampire skin is utter bullcrap!?!?! omg whis skiun is sparkly!!! oh how lame. he couldnt burn or turn into a monster he just looks like hes sweety.ehh*barfs*
there wasent enough action or blood to make up for it

    To ines:
If that piece of garbage called Twilight is the best book you’ve ever read, I suggest you to read real books that are actually well written and constructed around solid plots, like 1984, 100 years of solitude, Frankenstein and Dracula.
If that poor excuse of a ‘movie’ called Twilight is the best movie you’ve ever seen, go ahead and watch real movies like Hero, Big Fish, Like water for chocolate and Interview with the vampire.
Twilight isn’t the ‘MOST AWESOMEST BOOK/MOVIE EVAR!!!’, stop saying all this crap. Stephenie meyer is a disgrace to the world of literature. Harry Potter may not be profound literature, but AT LEAST is well written and has a coherent plot.
    And remember:
    Real vampires DON’T SPARKLE!

not really planning on reading the book but, oh my god, the movie was the funniest thing ever. And not even purposely but me and my friends were laughing throughout the whole thing. It’s just silly and hilarious. The acting is horrible, the plot is kinda non-existant. The whole story is pretty ridiculous and unoriginal anyway. Immortal guy falls in love with human girl, oh noes, what will they do? Nothing new, nothing interesting. I bet the book sucks as bad the movie did. If that movie’s still out there, I’d suggested going just for the laughs.

Over all I liked the movie, but it did kind bugged me how weakly they followed the book. I can already see how messing up the first movie will effect the second one. for example , the beach scene, Jacob was suppose to tell Bella about vampires, and by doing so tell her about werewolves, and he didn’t so in the second book when he is trying to have Bella guess what he as become how is he going to do that, tell her to look it up in her book?

okay, so please read this:) i loved the book and the movie, but i loved the book more yeah yeah yeah. anyway, i almost wish they never made a movie and hhere’s why, some people saw the movie before they read the book, so now they picture the actors when they are reading. that makes the book less enjoyable because when i read it last spring, i pictured edward as my dream guy and that made the book so much better!

I thought the movie was GREAT and I would love to be able to go see it again!!!! Guys we all knew it wasn’t going to be exactly like the book. Has any movie ever been as good as the book it was based on??? But still they did an AWESOME job!!! Did you guys know that Summit Productions has never made a movie that’s made 70 million TOTAL let alone on opening weekend??? They did an awesome job with what they had! It would have been even more awesome if they hadn’t butchered the meadow scene, but still I got over that.

I’ve read all four books in the twilight series and they were so unbelievably good, and then the movie came along and completely ruined everything. I mean seriously, come on, Bella possibly could have displayed a little bit more emotion. Actually no, what am i saying, ALOT more emotion, she literally had the same voice for the entireity of the movie, i think she smiled like what, once maybe? The meadow scene – all i can say is wth? They walked out of the school into a forest, edward ripped up a few trees, stood in the light for maybe 5 seconds, he hardly even sparkled. It happens NOTHING like that in the book. And since when did they EVER climb up a giant tree in the middle of nowhere.
Twilight (the book) had such a large fanbase, the least they could have done is made it resemble the book. Sure, leave out some details, who even cares. We all knew they were going to have to cut out some stuff. But they completely ruined the movie, its nothing like the book.
Well thats all for my little rant, i could go on and on about how they totally ruined the movie, but i’ll leave it at this.
Oh and p.s whats with Edward’s car? Is it even a Volvo?

I thought the movie was really good, but they did screw alot of things up. So… i guess i’m half and half. I thought they did a decent job with the cast, it was the best people i thought they were going to find. The only person i didn’t think really matched his character was the guy who played Jasper…

  119. Jenna
    December 8, 2008

I actually really enjoyed MOST aspects of the film. Kristen’s acting left very little to be desired, and the beginning of the film started REALLY slow. Some of the best lines and scenes, I felt, were cut out. And they didn’t delve into any of the other Cullen/Hale family members at all.
However, aside from Kristen Stewart, the casting was dead on. I thought Rob Pattinson’s Edward was flawless. I can’t see anyone else having been chosen. I loved all of the other Cullens and Hales, and the human characters. The bad vampires were great, as well. And the soundtrack for the movie is amazing. xD

  120. Lauren
    December 8, 2008

The movie was better than i excepted. The book is lovely πŸ™‚ People need to understand that you can’t fit every detail from a book into a movie. Especially considering how detailed twilight the book is. And some people just expected way to highly and that’s why they were dissapointed. Not because the movie was horrible (because it wasn’t) but only because their standards were way to high. And thats the truth. πŸ™‚

i think that the books were awesome, but the movie sucked on ice!!! I mean, really, Kristen, her voice is so deep! and o my gosh, robert, you really need a shave. uugh! and when they zoomed up on edward’s face, you could totally see his contacts. and the crouching looked like they had back problems! i think the movie sucked!!!!!! no offense. it just was way too fast. you look at the book, and it’s all descriptive and full of adjectives, but the movie was just like WHOOSH! it was horrible. i hated how they jumped around. and how edward was climbing. over all, book: yay! movie: πŸ™ boooooooo!

    December 8, 2008

i loved the movie. i read the books since the beginning.
it is definitely not the worst movie. i have seen worst movies that were complete waste of my time.
people should have gone to see the movie with an opened mind. that’s what i did.
the only things i didn’t like was the spider monkey line, the meadow scene(lack of i mean), and the sparkling could have been better. i expected the sparkles to be like prisms and make rainbows all over the place.
if they kept exactly too the book the movie would have been 5 hours long. if people want it to be exactly like the books they should make there own movie. they kept as much to the book as possible.
i enjoyed it very much. Rob is definitly hot.

  132. Rawrishx
    December 8, 2008

okay I’m a bit sick of hearing that the Twilight movie sucked, I didn’t you all just had extremely high expectations. My rule to seeing a movie adaption of a book is to never expect anything better than the book or for the director to follow the book to the letter. This has only happened once to my knowledge and that was stephen king’s The Stand and it was around 4-6 hours long. As a movie Twilight I’ll give it a 7 out of ten for this reason. The effects were done very well. It didn’t use different versions words over and over again to describe the same thing that’s what the book did, you can say I’m wrong but go back read all of the books and then tell me I’m wrong and I’ll personally send a 300 dollars. Also it seems that people expect the vampires to be as beautiful as they’re described in the book. Really?
The actors are only human people.
I honestly went into the movie expecting jack shit, I thought it was going to suck and it really didn’t if you go back and look at it it’s a pretty good movie.
If you’re not convinced I’ll persist.
The lighting was done very well for the setting. The effects were very good and followed the books specifications. Things were added in the movie that weren’t in the book, there’s a sequel coming out and hopefully they will improve on the script writing a little and follow the book a little bit better and they’ll iron out the continuity errors (little mistakes that are missed in the film) a bit better. Like the bob that james did when he leaped over bella. And to the fan girls shut up the book is not as good as you say it is. Fan girls and Fan boys have always been an annoyance but the Twilight fan girls are an infection. Anyway Twilight good movie don’t misjudge it watch it again on DVD or in the theater with some of the view I suggested and hopefully you see my point.

  133. Miles
    December 8, 2008

Okay I wrote a whole review on the movie
but it wouldn’t fit in the space so I’ll simplify it
First off Fan girls Shut the hell up you’re a virus.
Twilight books and Movie were not nearly as good as you make it out to be. Stephenie Meyer uses a helluva lot of filler and that’s annoying. Second The movie will never be as good as the book and Directors of said movies will always cut parts out. I did feel rushed when I watched the movie despite the length. But all in all it was a good movie. What I like about it was that things were added to the movie to make up for the cut outs from the book for example, the fight scene. Any way the main reason by my observation why people have don’t like the movie is simply high expectations you expected a spectacle of amazement and you didn’t get it. I Expected next to nothing I always do when I see a movie or play a video game and from that stand point the movie was good. You need to be open minded about movies especially adaptations of books

I thought it was alright. I loved the entire cast, I can’t imagin anyone eles playing those roles, however I think it could have been directed better. Here’s the thing that people have a problem with; they go into a movie expecting it to be EXACTLY like the books and that just is not the case.
The books in my opinion were written very well and in my opinion it seemed like there was too much going on in them to put into a movie anyway without it being a really long movie which this was not.
The movie was a huge disappointment. Let’s start with graphics and special affects. The camera moved entirely too much on shots that should’ve been still. As for special affects, they were terrible. I didn’t like when ever they had to move fast, because it didn’t even look the least bit believable. On top of the running, was the leaping and “flying” if you will were very poorly done. The special in this film were not so terrible the film became un-enjoyable, but they appeared extremely budgeted and failed to bring to life aspects that were needed to make the film more believable.
The actors and actresses chosen and their over all acting. I think Bella was perfect for the part looks wise. At some parts she appeared plain, the way she saw herself but honestly she was truly beautiful. Very pretty girl. Acting wise, she was a little too mean in some places where it wasn’t needed at all. Edward was alright. When he smiled, he was gorgeous, and out of all the other guys they picked for the movie I can see how they got away with this guy. He’s not my first pick for hotness, but I can get how it works. Acting wise, I think he looked incredibly too surprised or shocked throughout most of the movie.
The break down. The movie skipped around a lot, which you always expect in a movie based on a book because they can’t fit everything in it. However, there was no real flow in the way they chose to jump around and the movie felt very rushed. There was no real build up between Bella and Edward in the film. They rushed right around into their whole relationship thing and then that was butchered up. The action scene in the movie was VERY poorly crafted. There was this build up to it the entire movie which completely flopped once you actually got to it. The scene again was rushed and pitiful. The movie spent a lot of time drawing out scenes that didn’t need to be drawn out. The important and more complex scenes were cut short and rushed.
It was disappointing to read the actual review for this movie, and see that someone thought it outdid the Harry Potter movies. First of all, they are two completely movies. Secondly, this movie did not come anywhere NEAR the Harry Potters. Given, when the original Albus D passed away and the new director came along, the quality of the films were not as good and like Twilight, very rushed. However, the affects, cover of the book and acting in the Harry Potter films are brilliant. Twilight, not quite so much. Where again the two films shouldn’t be compared, but if they are to be Twilight is not on Harry Potter’s level.
I’d give this film 1 and a 1/2 stars out of 4. Putting the book aside, and just judging it as a film you might go see just for the heck of watching a film, it’s very poor. The over all story line doesn’t stand alone very well. It isn’t a complete waste of time but it’s not satisfying at all. True Twilight fans will be let down if they know anything about films and movies. The biggest disappointment is that the author wrote this envisioning it being a movie, and if that’s the case this certainly can’t be the movie she pictured.
Not the worst film I’ve ever seen, but not very goo either and for the overall, it wasn’t so great.

I read all the books and they are amazing <3
I'm on the second round of reading the Saga .

    I love Edward Cullen <3

What is the deal with Twilight? I mean Edward is a vampire that completely goes against the normal mythology of Vampires. Seriously, go to the wikipedia on vampires. Also did you know that the actor who played Edward hated his character. Oh and he also played Sedrick Diggoriy in Harry Potter ^^

Twilight sucks major portions of ass.
The reason Bella was acting like a tweaker was because she was doing drugs through the taping of the entire movie.
I hope to never ever ever ever ever everty EVER see another Twilight related object within the entirety of my life.
But sadly hot topic and other good stores seem to have a horrible lack of taste in good literature/movies so I may have to kill myself if I hope to not see another Twilight object D:

Twilight makes me want to vomit.
Its a disgrace to the word “literature.”
Which, I’m still not convinced that it is in fact “literature.”
Its written as if by a twelve year old fan girl writing fan fiction.
I’m still trying to figure out how the hell Stephenie Meyer managed to get an English degree with writing skills like that.
The entire book is a walking contradiction.
The book not only contradicts its self, but also everything a vampire is supposed to be.
And while it is fiction, and one is welcome to create their own world within fiction, I feel that she’s destroyed what a vampire is.
She constantly contradicts herself, like some sort of moron.
Overall, this book is completely abhorrent.
The only reason to read it is for instant gratification, because you don’t have to waste your time thinking.
Unless of course you’re trying to figure out what the hell she’s talking about, because lets face it, she makes absolutely no sense.
Personally, I’ll stick to reading real books.
But, if you want to read a useless pile of trash, be my guest.
These books will always remain as pleasant as a rotting animal carcass.
And furthermore, I feel extreme pity for the actors who were sucked into this festering pile of ooze.
While you’re declaring your undying love for said actors, I’d like you to keep in mind that the majority of them completely and utterly despise the characters they were cast to portray.
And why yes, that does include the man who played your beloved Edward.

I’ve read the whole saga & i’m madly in love with Stephenie Meyer’s books. She wrote them all well. Applause to her πŸ˜€
Well, i’ve watched twilight movie. It was a little disappointing. Because like Yaoilove90 commented, most of the parts were rushed / either cut off πŸ™ As a fan, i’m expecting more. But oh well. It depends on individual right?

not to be mean or anything but the person who said that stephenie meyers doesnt know anything about litrature ovbiously does not know what they are talking about the twlight series was beautifully written and has a certain edge that makes it special and not just the twilight series, but also the book the host it was an interesting book that kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time anyways back to twilight so what if rob pattinson didnt like his character he played it well i wished the scenes were a bit longer and they had more of the original scenes in it but it was wonderful despite the fact that the actors didnt like the movie if you didnt like the movie thats alright because the books are fricken amazing!

I went to the premier for it and I hated it, but when I went to see it a second time, it actually was pretty good. December 10, 2008

You all expected way too much of the movie
I’m mean really do you think a director is going to follow the storyline exactly? Do you think that a 2nd rate director is going to be able to use special effects and CGI to its full potential? No. Let say for example that some one else directed the film, just for the hell of it lets say that Peter Jackson directed Twilight. That would mean basically that we would have all been in complete awe at the amazing special effects and the Plot line would have obviously been followed better. The real problem is not the movie but the director and Stephine Meyer’s lack of protest toward the problems in the movie. By the way Fan girls SHUT UP FOR GODS SAKE! Both the movie and the book will never be as good as you make it out to be. There are better books by better authors out there. Another thing I’m going to stay positive about New moon Hopefully Some one will hire a better director or the old one will learn from her mistakes . And despite
what you say about the movie and the sequel I know that all of you will go and see it just out of curiosity .

Twilight is the most overrated, possibly worst thing possibly ever published.
It’s a shame it is considered a novel when it looks like a 7 year old wrote it.
They releated her to Anne Rice so maybe it was worth looking at. Boy was I wrong. If I were Anne Rice I would have been insulted. Anne Rice is an amazing writer and comparing her to someone who writes like an eight year old is insulting beyond all reason.
The movie was just as bad. Horrible acting. The only thing keeping me from leaving was the fact I paid 10 dollars to watch it. I couldn’t help but laugh at the pityful acting, and horrible filming.

What kind of vampire sparkles ?! Maybe a gay one ? Haha!
I’ve read the books, I didn’t care for them. I’m not going to waste my money on seeing the movie.
Seriously Stephenie can suck it! She’ll never beat out the HP series or Interview with the vampire.
This book/movie is obviously for all the tweens and people that can’t come up with a sentence besides ” OMG!!1 EDWARD IS SO HOTT!!11!”
Don’t even get me started on the unhealthy relationship crap. Bella is SO obsessed over Edward it’s scary.
I’ve got two words to describe Edward Cullen: Fucking Stalker.
And Bella is a Mary-Sue. She’s supposed to be an unattractive girl who is apparently a bit of a bitch. BUT.. apparently that makes every guy she comes into contact with–want to screw her.
Not to mention in Breaking Dawn, Edward gives Bella a Cesarean Section–WITH HIS TEETH.
This writer has got to be messed up in the head or something.
I would expect to find this book on a Quizilla page written by some 14 year old.
Come ON people! Read a real book!

Akia, it looks like you’ve tried to fit in as many adjectives as you can into your comment to make yourself look smarter. I recognize that Stephenie Meyer is a terrible writer but I love the basic plot of the books.

I believe the movie was all right. What I didn’t like was the actors and actresses they had chosen. The only ones I think were chosen the best where the ones that played Laurent, James and Victoria. The thing that bugged me the most is that Robert Pattison and Kristen Stewart did not show any emotion that their characters are supposed to show, they do it with words only and I think that it wasn’t enough

Robert had this constipated look on his face throughout the movie it was very irritating. The rest of the cast were excellent though, I liked Rosalie most out of the cast, shes not my favorite character in the book but they made an great choice casting her….

in my opinion, everyone just shifted to twilight now that harry potter is over. they just needed something to fall back on.
the book made no sense to me, the fact that edward acts bipolar all the time “he smiles then hes serious then he smiles again the he’s emo and tries to kill himself” make up your mind!

and now that this book is the “best book evah <3 <3 <3" girls would start looking for a guy like edward and would just be disappointed to find out that there would be no such thing since no one is perfect...

the effectes were horrible, they didnt add the good parts and all in all the movie sucked, i was laughing during the dramatic scene and a girl fainted while i was watching the movie hahaha

    Alright, here goes.
I read all four books. I was a fan until the fourth one which no matter what you say was full of cliches and utterly dissapointing.
Stephanie Meyer cannot write at the level of J.K Rowling, and has the imagery ablilities of a sophomore in high school. I enjoyed her writing, though, because it sounded like something off of fanfiction.net, and made the author relatable, so I liked the characters better.
I’m sure all of you have seen the comic from deviantart making fun of it, and yes there’s no chemistry.
I was going to give the movie a go, but the lead actor was ugly, so I decided not to. I do like him though, because it amuses me to no end that he leaked the ‘fifth book’ script. All in all I like the actors, for blatantly not being fans of the series and being in it for the money. Even the SATC group tried to fake enthusiasm.
I’m not going to see the movie, and if she writes another book I wont read it. However, I may go see a movie or two that the cast is in other then twilight. Maybe they won’t suck when they’re really trying.

  209. Phoebe
    December 11, 2008

    Epic failure.
Bella was wrong, Edward was wrong, Jasper and Rosalie were wrong, only Emmett, Alice, and Jacob were right,
Thank god they basically fired Hardwicke, maybe then New Moon and Eclipse will be decent, AND Kristen Stewart will learn to act. She was horrible as Bella.
I think that Emily Browning should have been Bella and Gaspard Ulliel should have been Edward. I loved Laurent, though,
AND SERIOUSLY, they better keep Taylor as Jacob. He’s exactly what I pictured as Jacob, only a little taller.

  210. Phoebe
    December 11, 2008

    Oh, and:
The movie was pretty decent, IF you didn’t compare it to the book.. at all.
They left out so many details that should have been there, like Mike asking Bella if she stabbed Edward Cullen with a pencil.

((Mikaila, since you have the mental and emotionally capacity of a three-year-old, I feel the need the show you how much of an idiot you are…))
i honestly say that twilight was the worst thing i have ever read. since when were sparkling bipolar vampires ever cool? and the movie? god dont get me started on the movie.
((Hmmm… if you hated the book then why did you go watch the movie?))
in my opinion, everyone just shifted to twilight now that harry potter is over. they just needed something to fall back on.
(i’ll admit that I jumped onto the bandwagon, but I have a friend who started reading the books when they first came out and before anybody thought they were cool.))
the book made no sense to me, the fact that edward acts bipolar all the time “he smiles then hes serious then he smiles again the he’s emo and tries to kill himself” make up your mind!
((Once again, the fact that you have the emotionally complexity of a three-year-old tells me that you have no understanding of how complex human (in this case… vampire) emotions are.))
and god, bella? no one is that much of a clutz. she whines alot and she’s most likely to be the most clingy… character i have ever seen…
((well jeez, i’m sorry she isn’t up to your high standards of perfection! nobody is perfect))
the vamps…seriously, shiny vamps? its takes out the whole “vampires have a weakness” part…
    everyone has a weakness…
    ((they do have weaknesses… werewolves.))
and now that this book is the “best book evah <3 <3 <3" girls would start looking for a guy like edward and would just be disappointed to find out that there would be no such thing since no one is perfect...
((and since they'll be able to find no edward, all of these girls WILL go off and find a boyfriend WHO'LL abuse and take advantage of them because in this world MEN ARE PIGS. oh, and thanks for being a hypocrite... nobody is perfect huh? but for some reason bella isn't allowed to have any flaws?))
i mean yeah i want the perfect guy too but be real...youd want alteast one flaw...
((edward does has flaws... like you said, he's "bipolor". oh, and i have OCD and ADHD, i guess you better hate me... my sister has dyslexia and my brother has autism... i guess you better hate them as well!))
    as for the movie...
the actors sucked, edward looked like he had to pee and was holding it in for the whole movie...and his make up made him look like he had cancer...
jasper looked like an asylum escapee, emmett...monkey...rosalie looked like a female wrestler, alice was cute...
((and i'm sure you look any better? haha))
the effectes were horrible, they didnt add the good parts and all in all the movie sucked, i was laughing during the dramatic scene and a girl fainted while i was watching the movie hahaha

Im tired of all these hate comments on Twilight.
It was a really good movie and the book series were awesome.
Those people worked their but off to make this movie and this is what you repay them?
    Thats harsh.
Yeah okay I love HP but its stupid that he goes back every year to hogwarts and knows something is going to happen to him.
    I mean hello.
    Its called common sense.
I really just want to strangle people for hating on Twilight.
And for one dont be hating on Stephenie Meyer because she is a GREAT writer.

(i agree... the effects were bad... mostly for me it was the climbing trees and running-real-fast-like-a-roadrunner scenes...))
so seriously people, if you wanna be addicted to twilight then fine, be addicted, just leave everyone else alone, now everyone would wanna hear about how hot edward is or how cool blablabla is...

Best Comedy of the Year Award goes to…
The books are horridly written, there is no plot, Edward is a sparkling stalking abusive boyfriend and Bella is his Mary-Sue Attention-Whore-Clumsy girlfriend. The movie was great to laugh at due to the horribleness of the “plot” that it told. However, putting in the evil vampires before 3/4th of the way through? *thumbs up* One good thing they did.

Okay, the books were a little iffy. I think for a woman who just started writing out of the blue Stephenie did an okay job on her books: as long as she’s proud of them, that’s all that matters. I’m not much of a fan of romance anyway, so maybe I’m just being biased when I say that I’m glad that the series has ended. They weren’t HORRIBLE, but they didn’t satisfy me either.
As for the movie (sorry Catherine Hardwicke & Twilight cast) my while experience can be summed up in two very self-explanatory words:
Bella showed NO emotion whatsoever, Edward acted like an obsessed stalker/rapist, Jasper looked like a man from the “funny farm” if you know what I mean, and the whole plot was so aa-backwards that I was afraid of recommending the movie to someone who hasn’t read the books.
If I hadn’t known the original story, I would’ve walked out twenty minutes into the movie. I demand my money and two hours of life that I wasted back.

Twilight is just a horrible series. The books were terrible and the movie was even worse! The author basically too the dark and morbid name of vampires, painted it rainbow and covered it with sparkles. It shouldn’t be done! Almost the whole population of my school is head over heels for it. THey think its a great series because of the romance and all the lovey-dovey crap, but they can’t see that its commercializining the vampires in to being family friendly. Again, it shouldn’t be done and that moron of an author did.

  227. d
    December 11, 2008

well, i didn’t think it was completely horrible. i thought it was ok.
there’s only so much times in the world and the movie will never be EXACTLY like the book.

  228. Corri
    December 11, 2008

You know, the movie wasn’t terrible. I’ve seen worse. I didn’t like how they left out most of the book, even if they tried to fit it into two hours, the could have done a better job.
The sparkling vampire crap is ridiculous I’ll be the first to admit that one. However, Stephanie took a chance stretching out of the norm for vampires. And I think she did an EXCELLENT job of it. ‘Cept for the whole sparkly thing. I thought it was an interesting concept at first, but in the movie, it was totally ruined for me. It look like he rolled in glass and you could hear it falling on the ground.
I’ve read all four books, and I can honestly say the only one I didn’t like was New Moon. But that’s only because Edward was gone the entire time.
I don’t think I’m the only one that fell inlove with Cedric Digory(also Robert Pattinson) in Harry Potter and the Gauntlet of Fire. He’s quite gorgeous.
Bella, coulda been better though I did like her. I really think Alexis Bledel would’ve been a great Bella. I have to say though, at times, I felt like she was overacting. In fact, I feel like the entire movie was overacted.
    Mike, was so ugly.
The Cullen Family was beautiful and they did a fair job of contrasting that with the ordinary people.
All in all, it wasn’t the worst book made movie. Obviously, it smashed all the other movies on ticket sale. But it wasn’t the best.

The movie was okay. It somewhat quenched my obsession for “more twilight”, but “somewhat” isn’t satisfying enough for me. The actors playing Bella nad Edward were… dead. Just dead. No emotions whatsoever. It was a little pathetic, really. Although, the girl that played Alice was perfect, but thats about it. And I’m sick of all the little fan girls who didn’t even read the book going “I lurve twilight, Edward is soooooooo hot!” Newsflash: Edward isn’t even supposed to look like that actor in the first place. Hello? RED. CURLY. HAIR. Not the messy brown rat’s nest that I saw on the screen. I mean, is hair dye really that hard to use? And what happedned to the “glowing pale skin”? The vampires skin tone looked like everyone else’s! I will see the next movie, but only because I lack better things “Twilight”. Don’t judge the books by the movie, because the books are AMAZING. The movie… not so much.

Kay the movie in my opinion was HORRRIBLEE,
they so rushed it and forgot some parts and Kristen as Bella…?
Wow that was a big no-no.
Robert Pattinson was okay for Edward but really.
Alice was my favorite character in the movie.
    But whatever.
The books were so much better, I plan on reading The Host.

The book has always been okay for me… the plot is nice, but if it was the best Stephenie Meyer could do, she’s not a great writer at all.
I only watched the movie in order to get closer to a friend, and to look at the make out scene. Other than that, the movie was obviously rushed, it was out of order, and the effects weren’t that great.

Alright. I have a different perspective to pretty much everyone here, I guess. It has become obvious that you can only either completely hate or completely love Twilight.
Honestly, I have become ashamed to say that I’m a fan of the books, because really, look at all of the girls on the side of love here, they’re mostly illiterate and come off as stupid, whereas the hate side are (MOSTLY) literate.
I LOVE Anne Rice, all her books are amazing, but really, when Stephenie Meyer wrote Twilight, it was her first book. You can hardly expect her first book to be perfect. Each to his own, but personally, I like her take on vampires. So she wrote them differently than the norm. Big deal. My only beef is who they casted for Bella and Edward. I can’t STAND Kristen Stewart and Rob just creeps me out.

  242. Lilly

The movie was alright. People out there who keep judging it just by how bad it was should stop and realize that the movie was never going to be like the book. They did the best they could with what they had to work with. Although, I think they should of added more stuff from the book into the movie because some of it came off as cheesy and completely funny looking.

the acting wasn’t great. the actors were beautiiiifuuul tho πŸ™‚
but when there’s books as good as twilight the movie obviously isn’t gonna live up to it.

Well, I don’t know about any of yall but i really loved the books. I thought they were all very interesting and very descriptive. I am only dissapointed in the fact that it’s over and there won’t be anymore books in the twilight series. I liked the movie but i think the special effects could have been cooler. I hope the other movies are good. The first may have been kinda not-so-great because it’s hard to cram so much information into a 2 hour movie. I loved the movie! I mean, not everything in the books can be played in the movies. It was really good. The actors did great for their roles especially Robert, he’s strikingly gorgeous. After seeing the movie all I could think about was getting my hands on the books, and I just finished the first one today, I got it yesterday in the morning and had to go through the suffering of trying to read it whenever I wasn’t doing my schoolwork. But I got it read and know I’m going to get my hands on the second one soon! :]
All in all both movie and books are ah-ma-zing!

I have no opinion on the movie, as I’ve both not, and do not plan to see it. Ever. I do know that I read about 50 pages of the book and found the writing itself to be completely mediocre, to the point where the constant adverbs and passive tense made the story monotonous, so I just stopped reading it. I also have a pet peeve for people who address their parents by their first names.
Bella screams honking emobitch Mary Sue, too, but what do I know? I barely read it because I think Meyers has the writing ability of an 8th grader whose only noteworthy skill is using spell check.

. . .-_-; The Movie, just. . it was to rush, and there was no chemistry once-so ever. Goodness, the characters that I actually found that I liked where the same characters I were wary about in the first book. D< Rosalie, Emmette, Alice, and Jasper. . who, frankly, where the hell were his lines? D< The Lack of Alice annoyed me as well. Esmee- could also join the list, everyone else? Lame. Again, D< Where the heck was the chemistry? Hell, Casey and Derek had more chemistry then Edward and Bella, and they're suppose to be 'step siblings! on Disney!' . . eh, then again, I think Casey and Derek have chemistry regardless. As for the book, I thought it was wonderful the first time I read it. Then I re-read it and noticed.. some irksome things, but over-all I'll like to read it again. But again, the movie? Ugh. No way.

    ((Rants follow…sorry))
I can see both sides of the situation. The Twilight series isn’t the best series ever, but everyone has different opinions on it. I truly believe that EVERY SINGLE BOOK needs to have people that hate it so other people can LOVE it to death. Has there ever been a book that every single person in the world loved? If you can give me an example, I’d love to read it!
I love YA books because they’re magical and they have a essence all their own. Even now that I’m in college, I STILL love reading YA books. But don’t misinterpret that. I also LOVE adult books too. They have a power that YA books don’t. I do not see why people who read adult books are so against YA books sometimes. I understand it’s about plot and characters and such. ((Even my mother looks at my YA books like they’re bombs about to go off.))
Plus, look at it this way, guys: If Stephenie Meyer is getting those “teeny-boppers” who never thought they could enjoy a book to ACTUALLY READ, isn’t she accomplishing something authors should accomplish? No matter how horrible or wonderful you think the books are… tweens are reading THEM instead of magazines.
So, overall, I liked reading the Twilight series. I was obsessed when I first found them a few years ago, but now I know that they aren’t the best thing out there.
I suggest that any person who read Twilight go read more. πŸ™‚ You’ll find you can’t stop.
I’m the type of person that can love a movie based off a book without the movie being perfectly true to the book. ((I loved Blood and Chocolate as a movie and as a book though the plot in he book proved better.)) Twilight the movie was good and bad. Some parts made me laugh when I shouldn’t, some parts made me look at the characters like they were nuts…but some parts made me sigh happily and some parts made me smile. It’s not a movie I’d buy on DVD (unless it was on sale for cheap!) but it’s worth seeing if you’re curious.
If you didn’t like the books, it’s your decision whether to see the movie or not. I probably wouldn’t – why spend money now when you can wait until it’s on television or something?
That’s all. I hope that if you did read my rants, they maybe made you think. πŸ™‚ And remember, “It doesn’t matter what you believe in, but believe in something.”

There sure is reason to bash Smeyer! She’s the one responsible for providing the material in the first place. There are now a legion of ignorant young girls looking for their “perfect” stalker who’s eyes smolder. 10 to 1 odds that they will already be wearing glitter.

  262. Star
    December 12, 2008

The book was AMAZING! And to bash Stephenie Meyer is chidish. This puts an amazing view on Vampires, an makes them much more realistic. The movie, not so great, I couldn’t help but laugh at some of the cheesy scenes & lines that were used. The acting wasn’t that great and the character weren’t what I imagined. There wasn’t enough physical emotion at all. If you plan on watching the movie & haven’t read the book, I highly recommend reading the book after the movie, so you can be disappointed in the movie AFTER the book.
Stephenie is an Amazing author and I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.

the movie its good… but just good, the books are best than the first movie and the actors… well its obviously that they are not vampires… they don’t have that touch of vampire.

OK. Your ALL pathetic twilight posers! all Stephanie did was write a story on shit that I’ve been reading for fucking YEARS!!! ok!?! she’s just a writers theft who stole the idea of many a QUIZILLA.COM QUIZILLANS!!!! I’ve read & re read her shit so many times that there’s nothing unique about it! she’s predictable & unoriginal ok?!?! & you guys are posers who probably only love the concept & not the actual book and your all pretty pathetic. if you think that the guys on that show were hot you need a real taste of men the Edward sucked & same w/ all the rest none of them were actually cute its the MENTAL CONCEPT!!! get over your selves the book and the MOVIE & if you still think what you think I DON’T want you to go die but I DO want you to accept my thoughts on THIS SUBJECT so WHO CARES IF I’M MORE UNIQUE THEN YOU!!! dont say I should go die for not liking it!!!!! XP & in my opinion other then a select few *cough* like Allie & Joe *cough* the rest should zip there lip because you cant even think logically its all in sheer unfathomable blind stupidity.

i find the movie more pathetic than the book atleast the book had more meaning than the stupid hollywood movie with cheap effects
besides, the girl character fitted perfectly but not the guy
just because some people think he;s cute it dosent mean he is a good actor

To be honest, I didn’t see the movie nor to I want to see it. πŸ™‚ I do dislike Twilight but I am a human being who is expressing their opinion in a kind, not harmful or abusive (meaning you, obsessed fangirls who can’t tell the difference between a glove and a cup in HP and think that Twilight is the holy book when its main topic is demons. Chew on that, please.) manner.
^_^ Also, Twilight fanatics; Please stop abusing us, the people who do not approve of your reading material, to the extent that you could be put in jail.
    –Thank you.
