Photobucket is Investing in the Future of Image Hosting To Improve the User Experience

First and foremost we want to thank our 90+ million loyal Members. It's because of each of you that we recently launched our newly enhanced website which now offers incomparable services including automatic image formatting for 3rd party sites; an unlimited bandwidth option for hosting; image optimization for any device; the option of a free storage plan and free trials for hosting services; a 10x increased performance with faster load times; and a greatly enhanced mobile web experience. This is only the beginning as Photobucket will continue to release product enhancements with additional features and a new version of our mobile app is scheduled to launch later this year.

Photobucket has been offering free photo hosting for over 16 years and you may recall that we pioneered image hosting by offering a free tool to help people share photos on their favorite sites across the internet. We're proud to say that countless Members host millions of photos with Photobucket, and that free service is here to stay. You can and should continue to rely on Photobucket to make it easy to protect and share your images.

As we continue to innovate and smartly invest in the future of the company, our unwavering commitment to you remains our #1 priority. We value your feedback tremendously and have listened closely to what you believe will make Photobucket better. A reduction of advertising as part of the user experience was consistent in your feedback and we intend to do something about it.

To achieve this goal and to continually offer simple yet state-of-the-art features and functionality for everyone, new free and beginner plan hosting account limits will begin on June 1, 2019. Members with free or beginner plans who use Photobucket to host images on outside websites will be limited to 25MB of bandwidth per month. Members who choose to remain on our free or beginner plan and exceed this bandwidth limit will have all of their hosted photos watermarked and blurred. To restore hosting privileges, members can simply purchase an intermediate or expert premium subscription plan. These changes will affect less than 10% of our most active hosters/members.

Please note, when we ask you our members for a subscription fee, what we are really asking for is to invest in us. Invest in the sustainability of the service, invest in retaining control over your assets, and invest in our ability to continue to innovate to meet and better yet, exceed your needs of tomorrow.

Thank you for your continued support and for those of you who will be affected by our new monthly fee, thanks for investing in Photobucket's future.
